Oak Park Public Library Summer options - May 20 deadline

 

Oak Park Public Library Teen Summer Volunteer Program offers teens entering 7th through 12th grade many different options of volunteer support, tailored to the needs of the Library and the teen volunteers in the community. This year, the Library is offering drop in volunteering, along with the team and branch volunteers. We've also got new teams like our Mobile Lab team that will be developing mobile apps and games for the library's website and a Reader's Theater team that will be performing a traveling piece of children's theater to local daycares.

Wonder Works Summer & Fall Internship positions - May 25 deadline for summer; July 29 deadline for fall

 
Wonder Works Children's Museum in Oak Park is proud to announce the availablity of two new internship positions made available to us through a grant from the Young Philanthropist of the Oak Park River Forest Community Foundation.  We will be hiring one intern for the summer (June-August, 2011) and one for fall (Sept-December 2011).  This will be a unique position, in that the intern will work side-by-side with senior staff to learn about fundraising (grants, direct giving, special events) and volunteer recruitment/retention. Hours are flexible, pay is minimum wage, opportunities are endless.
 
To be eligible for this position, a candidate must meet the following criteria:
 
-      16-18 years old
-       enrolled in high school or college
-       a resident of Oak Park or River Forest

 

Deadline for the summer position is May 25, but we will be reviewing and interviewing candidates as applications are received, so the sooner the better!  Deadline for the fall position is July 29.  Candidates can apply for one or both positions, but two different individuals will be selected.  Click here for FLYER/APPLICATION FORM
