This is a summary of the actions of the Oak Park and
River Forest High School Board of Education at its last meeting on Thursday,
October 28, 1999.

aproved the consent items: minutes of September 16, 23 and October 2, 1999;
personnel recommendations; FDSE actions; and financial reports;

approved the Illinois State Library Grant FY 00 Application;

accepted the Annual Audit;
-
accepted with gratitude from John C. Ruckauf a donation of a set of the
Great books of the Western World; from Linda Stehno and Garth Swan a donation
of a 1986 Toyota Camry; from Sandy Price a donation of two books titled
The Kenju Park Grove and Kenji Miyazawa Picture Book Series; from Mary
Devore a donation of a sheffalera tree; and from Robert W. Magee of the
Class of 1949 a donation of travel audio tapes;

approved Policy 3600, Prohibited Gifts; and
-
expelled two student for the remainder of semester one of the 1990-00 school
year, but held the expulsions in abeyance contingent upon completion of
enrollent and regular attendance in an Ombudsman program for the remainder
of semester one of the 1999-00 school year; and receive counseling via
the Community Support Staff.

| Reports |
Superintendent's Report -Dr. Susan Bridge reported that 1) Oak
Park and river Forest High School's Homecoming was larger than anyone expected
and thanked Student Council sponsor Mike Mitchell and Ted Demos as well
as spirit leaders Pat Graham and Linda Belpedio; 2) four out of ten students
passed the Proficiency Exam in consumer Education; the Community forum
titled "Long-Term Racial digersity: scheduled for November 6 will be held
at Percy Julian Junior High from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.--everyone is invited
to attend; 30 a press conference would be held Monday, November 1 to announce
the School Resource Officers Jacques conway and Kendra Sullivan; 4) the
next Minority Student Achievement Network meeting would be held in Nashville,
November 11-13, and 5) the Class of 1949 made a cash donation of $7557
to the Oak Park and River Forest High School Scholarship Foundation.
Mrs. Bennett presented the Triton School Evening Report.
Dr. Danes presented the 1999-00 Certified Staff Seniority List, the
Certified Personnel Profile for 1999-2000, the Sabbatical Leave Reports
of the 1998-1999 School Year, and the Educational Support Personnel Profile
for 1999-2000.
Mr. Lanenga presented the October 1 statistics report.
Mr. Sye presented the reports on Student Withdrawals and Aids to Needy
Children.
The School Report Card and the School Profile were also presented.
The Board Members reported on their various Board committee and liaison
representative responsibilities.
