The 2017 PSAT/NMSQT will be administered at OPRFHS on Saturday, October 14, 2017, beginning at 8:00 a.m. All sophomores and juniors are encouraged to take the test as a practice for the junior-year SAT.  Details regarding test registration will be mailed to families in August 2017.

The PSAT/NMSQT tests the same content and has the same format as the SAT. For juniors only, it also serves as the entrance test for scholarship and recognition programs run by the National Merit Corporation and the National Hispanic Recognition Program.

A junior who has an unavoidable conflict on Saturday, October 14 and who wishes to take the PSAT/NMSQT should contact the Office of Assessment and Research no later than September 15 to request alternate date testing on October 11, 2017. Because OPRFHS is only allowed to administer the test on one of the two dates it is given each October, the alternate date test will take place at another nearby school, based upon available test materials/seats.

Due to the limited number of available alternate date slots, we are not able to accommodate sophomores with a conflict on October 14. Sophomores will take the PSAT 10 in school on April 10,  2018 and thus will have another opportunity this year to practice.
