On Dec. 22, 2016, the District 200 Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Joylynn Pruitt-Adams, Ed.D., as permanent superintendent. Dr. Pruitt-Adams, who has been serving as interim superintendent since July 1, 2016, was chosen after a months-long national search that drew 48 candidates from 12 states and sought input from several dozen local stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, administrators, parents, and community members. On June 30, 2016, the Board approved the hiring of Dr. Joylynn Pruitt as interim superintendent for the 2016-2017 school year. On behalf of the Board, BWP and Associates will conduct a nationwide search for a permanent superintendent, whose hire is slated to become effective July 1, 2017. The search will involve input from a variety of stakeholders, including board members, administrators, faculty, staff, parents, students, and community members. At the July 14 Special Board meeting, BWP presented draft documents outlining the search process.
