Boys Swimming coach Clyde Lundgren provided this update on this past weekend's state meet:
The boys pictured here (Nathan Pimentel, Mark Hallman, Kyle Patnode and Nikita Bondarenko) had a phenomenal state meet this past Friday and Saturday! Four school records were broken en route to a 10th place team finish, outscoring cross-town rival Fenwick, who finished 11th. Peter Quinn, a teacher in the OPRF English department, still holds OPRF's 100 free record after 30 years.
These boys grew up swimming together and have worked and dreamed of this for years. They will likely go down as one of the best teams in OPRF history. Their times qualify them for All-America honors. They competed against a field that broke several state records and even a national record in the 100 butterfly. With great poise, they represented their teammates, coaches, school, family and friends extremely well. I am proud of these young men and they should be commended for who they are and what they have worked for and finally accomplished. Please join me in congratulating these young men!
