Girls basketball lost to New Trier in the IHSA regional championship game on Friday night. Congratulations to head coach JP Coughlin and the team for a great season and their West Suburban Conference (WSC) championship.

Boys basketball will play at Proviso East in the WSC Crossover game on Tues., Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. The team will begin the playoffs on Wednesday, March 2, at the Morton HS - IHSA regional tournament.

Boys swimming and diving placed second as a team at the IHSA sectional on Saturday. Swim coach Clyde Lundgren and Diving coach Mark Pappalardo were named IHSA sectional coaches of the year at the meet.  The following athletes qualified for the state meet, to be held this weekend at Evanston:
200 Freestyle Relay: Thomas Wolfe, JP Rotatori, Sean Pawelko, Josh Fluharty
400 Freestyle Relay: T. Wolfe, JP Rotatori, Max Razzino, J. Fluharty
T. Wolfe – 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke
J. Fluharty – 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle
Diving – Riley Conrady and Kenton Brennan

And finally, congratulations to Alyona Jochaniewicz, who competed in the IHSA State Girls Gymnastics Tournament this weekend at Palatine HS in the all-around competition.
