The John C Swanson Scholar Fund is a not-for-profit fund designed to bring enrichment opportunities to the faculty, and through them, the students of Oak Park and River Forest High School, by providing funds primarily for visiting scholars to enhance the learning environment through lectures, seminars, workshops, etc. at the high school. Funds may also be used to provide faculty members an opportunity to enrich their individual learning in a way that will benefit other faculty and the students whom they serve.

The Swanson Scholar Fund is named after Dr. John C. Swanson, much beloved and respected superintendent at OPRFHS from 1974 through 1987.   His efforts to maintain the Tradition of Excellence of this high school are continued through donations to this fund. We are deeply grateful to those who share Dr. Swanson’s vision of academic excellence.
