SAVE THE DATE – The Alumni Association is planning its First Annual GOLF OUTING to take place WEDNESDAY, JUNE 30 at Glen Eagles Golf Club in Lemont! Tee time begins at 1:00 PM with a shot-gun start - plan to enjoy a fun afternoon of golf followed by a dinner buffet - if you don't golf, plan to come for dinner! We are looking for sponsors of individual holes, bar sposors and prize donors - various levels of sponsorship will be available. We have just received a very generous donation from the CLASS OF 1979 - THANK YOU so very much! We appreciate the support we receive from Reunion Committees who donate their reunion proceeds to us. These donations support the Alumni Association as we help OPRFHS alumni keep in touch through our newsletters, e-bulletins and website as well as supporting current students through the Summer Enrichment Grant program. Thanks also to the Classes of 1969, 1974 and 1984 for your generous support in 2009-2010.
Last year, the Alumni Association received donations from the Classes of 1947, 1958, 1968, 1973, 1978 and 1988. Thank you to everyone in these classes for supporting us, with special thanks to the reunion committee members for all their efforts.
A number of 2010 REUNIONS are in the works including the OPRF Men's Soccer Alumni Match and the Classes of 2000, 1990. 1985, 1980, 1970, 1960 and 1955. For the details, follow this LINK. The Fall 2009 AlumNews newsletter is sponsored by Steve Dienberg '77 of Dienberg Printing, 114 Madison Street in Oak Park, (708) 244-0371. DIENBERG PRINTING has been doing the printing of our AlumNews for several years and they do a beautiful job, with Deborah (Karpus) Fitzgerald '72 providing typesetting/layout services. They produced our most recent issue at no cost to us, saving us a considerable sum that will go towards our Summer Enrichment Grant program. Our newsletter is mailed to our donor/members three times a year - if you're not currently receiving our newsletter, please contact our office to request a complimentary copy.

Reception for 2009 Summer Enrichment students
For the summer of 2009, the Alumni Association provided a total of $14,900.00 in financial assistance to benefit OPRFHS students. Of this total, $2,000 helped to subsidize 18 Summer Math students and 22 Summer English students in special courses at the high school. There were 20 students who attended various programs including OPRFHS Field Science courses in Arctic Ecology and Marine Biology, courses at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Film Institute, and many other exciting enrichment programs. We had a chance to meet many of these students and hear all about their wonderful experiences at the reception we hosted in October for the students and their families. DOOPERfest – a benefit concert extravaganza was held on Friday, October 9 featuring some the greatest OPRFHS alumni rock and roll bands - the SARF's, Jade 50's, Pezband, Off Broadway, Joe Cantafio & the 101st Rock Division and students in the OPRFHS choir, band & orchestra. WOW! What a great show - the DOOPERS still know how to ROCK THE HOUSE! Many thanks to all the musicians, emcees, light, sound & stage crew members and the staff at OPRFHS.

Alumni gathered to benefit SUMMER ENRICHMENT GRANTS at HEALY'S in June!
A friendly group of OPRFHS alumni, mostly from classes in the 60's, 70's, '80's and 90's, enjoyed catching up with each other "for a good cause" at the 2009 Summer HUSKIE HOWL at Healy's Westside in Forest Park on Thursday, June 25. The Alumni Night was held as a benefit to support our SUMMER ENRICHMENT GRANT program which provides financial assistance to current OPRFHS students. This spring, we awarded over $13,000 in grants to twenty-two students to participate ina variety of exciting academic enrichment programs this summer. In the fall, we'll host a reception at the high school for the students and their families where we'll hear from them about their experiences.

Homecoming 2010 - October 9, 2010 - Save the Date!
We've already been hearing from a few folks from 1960, 1980 and 1990 wondering about 2010 reunions. We'll include information on the website as it becomes available. We can help put interested classmates in touch with one another to get the reunion ball rolling, so please get in touch. For those planning ahead, HOMECOMING will be the weekend of SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2010. The varsity football game will take place on Saturday afternoon - more Homecoming related events will be announced next year.
