All freshmen students are welcome to join the Freshman Class Council. Our first meeting is Tuesday morning at 7:20 a.m. in Room 287. We will be planning our year including: Homecoming, Pack-the-Place and Adopt-a-Family. Come be part of this leadership and service club.

Scholastic Bowl
Mark your calendars. The first practice of the year will be held one week from next Monday, September 15 at 3:10 p.m. in Room 132. All interested students are invited to attend. If you like Jeopardy or just playing trivia games, Scholastic Bowl is for you! We practice every Monday and compete with all schools in the West Suburban Conference and a number of schools in Northern Illinois. See you on the 15th! (M. Rubinow)

Independent Study request forms for the fall 2008 semester are available in Room 373. Completed forms should be turned into Room 373 by September 5, 2008.
The Counselors will hold an important meeting on the College Application Process next Tuesday, September 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. Parents and seniors are strongly encouraged to attend. Topics to be covered include using Naviance in your college search, college applications and deadlines, essay writing, letters of recommendation, and transcripts. Don’t miss this opportunity to get a “jump start” on your college applications!

TestWatch TestPrep is running test prep classes at the high school to prepare you for the October 25 ACT and/or the November 1 SAT. Deadline to register is September 5. Classes begin September 11 for ACT and September 17 for SAT. Register online at www.twtp.com or pick up registration forms in Room 373.

IntramuralsIntramural basketball and badminton sign up from September 3 through September 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the Field House corridor. Students will need their student ID and $10 to register for the fall quarter. So get your teams together and let (R. Baker)

Any individual interested in trying out for the Varsity Boys’ Basketball team should attend an important meeting today at 3:20 p.m. in Room 350. Those individuals in a fall sport do not need to attend. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please contact Coach Maloney.

Huskie Wrestling is having open gym each Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the Wrestling Room, starting September 9. All those interested in wrestling this year should attend. Any freshman that can score on Dan Martin will be given a free Huskie Wrestling T-shirt. (Coach Powell)
