Homecoming Ticket Sales
Homecoming tickets will be on sale through Thursday for only $18 during all lunch periods and after school. If you want to save time and money, purchase your ticket online by before Thursday for only $15. Tickets will not be sold on Friday.

You may now make song requests for the Homecoming Dance online - yes, online song requests. Either check out the online address on the back of your homecoming ticket or go to the OPRFHS homepage where you click on STUDENTS and then scroll down until you find the homecoming link. Confused? Yearbook Missed Pictures and Retakes
Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Faculty and Staff if you are unhappy with your ID image or missed having your picture during registration you may take or retake your photo next Tuesday, October 7 from 7:30 a.m. - 4 pm in the Student Activity Center, Room 174. It only takes minutes of your time. Seniors please note that this does NOT apply to you - your images for the yearbook are the ones you scheduled over the summer and yearbook ID pictures are DIFFERENT than Senior Portraits.

Did you know that unplugging your cell phone charger when you’re not using it saves not only electricity but also CO2 emissions? We are meeting on today in Room 111 at 3:15 p.m. (C. McGuckin)

Freedom Readers Book Club
Please join us today directly after school in the Heritage Room, Library, 3rd floor. Our discussion will focus on the upcoming election as it relates to the key points in Covenant with Black America by Tavis Smiley. All are welcome to join the Club! (E. Glenn)

Speech Team – Individual Events
All team members must sign up for a minimum of 2 coaching sessions per week. Signup sheets are by Room 101. Missed the first meeting, – it is NOT too late. Stop by Room 101 or 371 any day after school and talk to one of the coaches or come to this week’s team meeting on Wednesday – October 1 at 3:30 p.m. in Room 371. No experience necessary.
ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT/SCHOLARSHIPS/OPPORTUNITIES
Attention All Students
A state graduation requirement is completing a course in Consumer Education. Students can meet this requirement by passing the Illinois Consumer Education Proficiency Test which will be given October 8 at 3:15 p.m. in Room 302. The exam is limited to 50 students and only registered students will be permitted to take the exam. Registration is from September 29 until the end of the school day on Monday, October 6. See Mrs. Rice in the third floor library to register. Students must register in person. You must show a current OPRFHS student ID on the test date. Consult page 21 in the 08-09 Academic Hand book for additional information.
SPORTS CORNER
Boys’ Sophomore Basketball Players
Basketball open gym for sophomores will be on Mondays and Wednesdays on the field house court from 6-7:30 p.m. beginning Mon., Oct. 6 and ending Wed., Oct. 29. Weight training for sophomore basketball players will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the weight room from 6-7:00 pm beginning Tues., Oct. 7 and ending Thurs, Oct. 30.

There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 3:15 p.m. in Room 431 to discuss the upcoming season.
