Please be advised that all entrances to the school will be locked except for the main entrance on Scoville Avenue on late arrival Mondays. ALL STUDENTS will have to enter at the main entrance on Scoville Avenue.
· Students WILL NOT be permitted into the academic areas or lockers until 8:50 a.m.
· Students will be allowed to go to the assigned areas (library, tutoring center, and testing center) until 8:30 a.m. After this time, students will not be allowed admittance to these areas. Students who go to the library, tutoring center, or testing center will be required to remain in these areas until the 8:50 bell.
· As students come into the building, they will be directed into the South Cafeteria. In the event that we near capacity in this area, students will then be directed into the North Cafeteria. Food will be sold in the South Cafeteria on late arrival Mondays beginning next week. Once the South and the North Cafeterias near capacity, students will then be allowed to convene in the Student Center.
· The 8:50 bell will release students to their lockers and academic areas.
· To aide us in this process, we are asking that teachers DO NOT accept student requests for appointments during this time. Students who need to make up test s or quizzes should be directed to the testing center.
2009 English Exchange Participants
Don't forget that there is a parent meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Room 371. Please see Mr. Bell or Ms. Faulkner if you and your parent are not able to attend or for hard copies of the required paperwork. See you tonight!
Auditions
Auditions for the 2nd Little Theater show, Absent Friends, by Alan Ayckboourn are next Tues. and Wed. from 3:15 to 6:15 p.m. The sign up is outside of Room 347. See Mr. Lessing for details and a copy of the script. No experience necessary. (A. Lessing)

Purchase your Homecoming tickets today for $18 each during all lunch periods and after school.
Homecoming Voting and Song Requests
Don’t forget to make song requests for the Homecoming Dance online and while you’re at it vote for the Homecoming Queen and Princess. Either check out the online address on the back of your homecoming ticket or go to the OPRFHS homepage where you click on STUDENTS and then scroll down until you find the homecoming link. Confused? Huskiepalooza is coming! If you or your band are interested in performing, auditions will be held on Tues., October 7 in the band room. Sign up for an audition time in the Student Activity Center by Mon., Oct. 6.
Guy Powder Puff Cheerleaders Wanted
Any guy interested in being a cheerleader for the Powder Puff game, please come to a short practice on tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the (3rd Floor Dance Studio) the blue room.
Ireland Summer Program
Any current sophomore or junior interested in participating in a summer program in Ireland next summer, please meet in Room 333 (Mr. Lee’s room) immediately after school today for an informational meeting.

Yearbook Missed Pictures and Retakes
If you are unhappy with your ID or missed having your picture during registration you may take or retake your photo next Tuesday, October 7 from 7:30 a.m. - 4 pm in the Student Activity Center, Room 174. Seniors please note that this does NOT apply to you.
Youth Service Medal of Honor Award
If you did at least 100 hours of volunteer service last school year and summer, you’re eligible for the 21st Annual Sheriff’s Youth Service Medal of Honor Award. Applications are available at the Welcome Center, Room 105, or the Student Activities Center. Applications must be postmarked by Monday, October 6, so don’t delay!

There will be a brief meeting Friday morning at 7:30 am for all students interested in Junior/Senior class council and working on prom. The meeting will be held in room 217. See Mr. Weisman if you have any questions.

Psychology Club welcomes our own psychology professionals Margo Bristow and Gwendolyn Walker-Qualls who will lead a discussion on Teen Mental Health and Drug Issues on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 3:15 p.m. in Room 368. All are welcome as always!

Science Fiction and Fantasy Club will be meeting today in Ms. Lee's room, Room 474. We'll be playing Brawl. Whoever said they would bring in a game system or controllers, PLEASE don't forget.

Interested in participating in the HOBY leadership seminar next June? HOBY Ambassadors participate in leadership activities, interact with community leaders, listen to keynote speakers, and form lasting bonds with other HOBY participants. If you would like to find out more, see your Counselor or Mrs. Martinek in Room 207.
Attention All Students
A state graduation requirement is completing a course in Consumer Education. Students can meet this requirement by passing the Illinois Consumer Education Proficiency Test which will be given October 8 at 3:15 p.m. in Room 302. The exam is limited to 50 students and only registered students will be permitted to take the exam. Register in person by Monday with Mrs. Rice in the third floor library.
SAT I & II
The SAT I & II is being administered at OPRFHS on October 4, 2008. Students must be at the front doors at 7:45 a.m. No one will be admitted without I.D. and admission ticket.

Boys’ Freshmen Basketball
The first open gym of the pre-season is this Friday morning in the 1 West Gym at 6:15 a.m. Don’t be late!
Boys’ Sophomore Basketball Players
Basketball open gym for sophomores will be on Mondays and Wednesdays on the field house court from 6-7:30 p.m. beginning Mon., Oct. 6 and ending Wed., Oct. 29. Weight training for sophomore basketball players will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the weight room from 6-7:00 pm beginning Tues., Oct. 7 and ending Thurs, Oct. 30.
Boys’ Swimming and Diving
There will be an informational meeting today at 3:15 p.m. in Room 431 to discuss the upcoming season.
Girls’ Basketball
All level girls interested in trying out for the Girls’ Basketball team should attend a very important meeting on Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the field house. (Coach Plane)
