We need your help with Breast Cancer Awareness
Mr. Belpedio’s Community Service class is selling pink Oak Park t-shirts for $10 with 4 of those dollars going to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Stop by Room 301 if interested.
From the Bookstore
Today is the last day you can return a book from a dropped class for a full refund. If purchased NEW, then the book must be in pristine condition. If not, then you will be refunded at 75% - the used book price. Please bring your receipt if at all possible. Otherwise it will NOT be a quick process.

Calling all Best Buddies
Please attend the Best Buddies Fall Festival in the Field House on Sat., Oct. 18 from 11-2. Great games will be played. Lunch will be served. Fabulous prizes will be raffled off. Be sure to attend and have fun!

If you’re interested in being in the Chess Club please come to a ten minute informative meeting in the Student Activity Center today immediately after school. (Farley/Bokum)

Freedom Readers Book Club
Please join us on next Tuesday directly after school in the Heritage Room, Library, 3rd floor. We will continue of discussion about the upcoming election as it relates to key points in Covenant With Black America (voting and housing). (E. Glenn)
ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT/SCHOLARSHIPS/OPPORTUNITIES
Juniors
There is room for a few more juniors who wish to take the PSAT/NMSQT on Saturday, October 18. To take the test, you must register in Room 373. Final deadline to register is Friday, October 10. After that time, if you have not registered to take the PSAT, we will not have test materials for you and you should not come to school on the day of the test.
Seniors
If you have a college application with a November 1st deadline, you must turn in your transcript request form, addressed & stamped envelope, and necessary forms to your Counselor’s secretary by 3:15 p.m. on Friday, October 10. This will allow us the three weeks necessary to process all transcript requests by the deadline.
SPORTS CORNER
Co-ed Intramural Softball Tournament
Register your team now for OPRF’s Co-ed Intramural Softball Tournament. The Tournament takes place Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 21 and 22 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. on the south field under the lights. Admission is free. Any student or staff can participant. Drop your team roster off at the Student Center or hand your team roster to Mr. Baker or Mr. Ledbetter and show the Cubs and Sox how to get it done. Come show your OPRF school spirit and pride. We need a minimum of 4 ladies, 12 people per team. (R. Baker)
Winter Sports Registration
Participation & Registration Forms and try-out Information is now available for all winter sports teams. All forms are located outside the Athletic Department Office. We will begin accepting Registration Forms in the Athletic Office on Monday, October 20. You must also have a current physical on file in order to try-out.
