Reunion planning is the responsibility of the members of each specific class. The Alumni Association is available to help put you in touch with your classmates and get the planning process started. Our reunion planning guide has tips to help you get started with venue ideas, setting up a website, collecting money, suggested activities, school tours, and more.  To request a copy of the reunion planning guide, email alumniassociation@oprfhs.org.

2024 Homecoming and Football Schedule

HOMECOMING 2024 will be Friday/Saturday SEPTEMBER 20 - 21 with the varsity football game vs. York on FRIDAY  evening.
Guided TOURS of the high school are available by request - these generally are scheduled for Saturday  mornings on weekends when reunions take place.  Details will be available at the end of summer break.

The Football season begins against Fenwick on August 31.  HOME GAMES are:  9/13- vs Proviso West; 9/20—vs York (Homecoming); 10/11- vs Willowbrook and 10/18- vs Hinsdale Central.  Details and links for tickets will be posted later in 2024.

• CLASS of 1974 – a 50-year reunion is planned for Saturday,  SEPTEMBER 14th, 2024 at Fitzgerald’s in Berwyn. • CLASS of 1984 – a 40-year reunion is scheduled for Homecoming Weekend,  SEPTEMBER 20-21. Visit the class Facebook GROUP to see what’s up.  Plans include attending the football game on Friday evening and an informal Meet & Greet at  Old School Tavern in Forest Park (cash bar).  The main event is Saturday night at Scratch Public House in Forest Park, cost is cost is $75 per person if paid on or before 8/22 (increases to $85 on 8/23 and at the door) and includes food, drink, photo booth and party favor. History

Named to honor one of the Alumni Association's founding members and long-time president,  Bobbie Wolin Raymond (Class of 1955), the Bobbie Raymond Student Enrichment Grant program provides financial support to help current OPRFHS students participate in academic-related enrichment programs. The goal of these grants is to increase access for students, particularly those with limited resources, to allow them to take advantage of academic-related enrichment opportunities.

Since 2003, the Alumni Association has awarded more than $600,000 via the Bobbie Raymond Student Enrichment Grant program in support of 825 students. For 2023, we provided over $26,000 on behalf of 18 students for summer programs; for 2024 we awarded over $34,000 on behalf of 27 students.

For the 2023-24 school year,  we also provided over $9,000 to the Fine Arts Department to support a March trip to NYC for students enrolled in several AP Studio Arts courses. Last year, we provided over $2,500 to PING! to support four students on the 2023 Band/Orchestra spring trip to New Orleans and Tulane University. We are thrilled to expand our funding to make these experiences available to more students. 

In addition to those awards, in 2021 the association awarded a $10,000 grant to Opportunity Knocks to support special education learning opportunities, and a $9,000 grant to the OPRFHS Theatre Department to be used for the spring musical. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Bobbie Raymond Student Enrichment Grant, students must be current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Exceptions are made for school-sponsored programs taking place over Spring Break. The 2024 APPLICATION is available now - find more information about the application process here.   
THE DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21 - all application materials must be received by that deadline.

Award Amounts

Individual awards are based on a particular program's cost and a student's financial need. Grant amounts range from $250 to $3,500, with $1,250 as an average. 

Reception for Grant Recipients

Each fall, the association hosts a family reception at OPRFHS in honor of the year's grant recipients, who each give a short “Show and Tell” report about their summer experiences.  Last fall, the reception was held on Monday evening, October 23.   Find out more on Facebook HERE.

The Board meets regularly during the school year on the second Monday of odd-numbered months, with an additional meeting taking place over the summer (date to be determined).
