Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

Robust instruction | Meaningful engagement

Evidence-based intervention | Informative assessment

MTSS or Multi-tiered Systems of Supports is a cohesive continuum of robust instruction and responsive supports that are evidence-based, continuously progress monitored and progressively more intensive. An MTSS perspective facilitates a systems-wide improvement model and helps answer the question "what does each student need?"

MTSS & Response to Intervention

Response to Intervention, within the MTSS framework, focuses on students' response to instruction and intervention. Levels of support increase based on the student's demonstrated needs and decrease based on achievement toward grade-level proficiency and growth.
