Dear OPRFHS Students, Staff, and Families,

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Warning, with dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills predicted from 3 a.m. through noon on Friday, Jan. 23.

As a result, we will have an E-Learning Day tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 23. Please note the following:

  • All before-school practices and extracurricular activities are canceled.
  • After-school practices, activities, and rehearsals are canceled.
  • Only after-school performances and competitions will be held on Friday as scheduled.
  • Unless we inform you otherwise, any Saturday practices, activities, etc., will be held as scheduled.

Here is attendance information for tomorrow’s E-Learning Day:

  • The school day will run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:11 p.m.
  • Study halls will not meet virtually during e-learning.
  • Students should log into their Google classrooms for instructions and/or Google Meet links.
  • Teachers will take attendance after the first five minutes of every class.
  • Teachers will provide synchronous instruction.
  • Students are expected to have their cameras on.
  • Click here for the bell schedule.

Closing the building is a serious matter that we don't take lightly. By closing our building and implementing the district’s E-Learning Plan, we are able to provide continuity of learning, while also keeping our students and staff safe.

Please continue to monitor your email, the district website, our social media, and WGN's Emergency Closings website for updates about the weather and its impact on operations on OPRFHS.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and please stay safe!

Sincerely,

Dr. Greg Johnson
Superintendent
