Oak Park and River Forest High School is pleased to announce the hiring of four new head coaches for the upcoming school year. Two are permanent hires, and two will serve as interims.

Jason Renteria – Head Coach, Boys Wrestling
A class of 2017 OPRF alum, Jason was a four-time state finalist, two-time state champ, and three-time IHSA dual state champion during his years as a Huskie wrestler. From 2020 to 2023, he served as wrestling head coach at Immaculate Conception College Prep, where he coached five state champions. For the past two years, he was an assistant coach for OPRF boys wrestling. With his extensive wrestling knowledge and understanding of the expectations of being a Huskie wrestler, he should make a seamless transition into the head coach position. [photo]

Symone Speech — Head Coach, Girls Volleyball
Symone brings a passion for giving back to the Huskie volleyball program that gave so much to her. A 2015 graduate of OPRF, Symone went on to play Division 1 volleyball at Georgetown University, where she led the team in blocks all four years. She then played professionally in Italy and Germany, where she helped her team to the German Cup and German Supercup in 2021-2022. The experience she brings to the Huskies is invaluable. [photo]
