Revised Opening Schedule for Imagine OPRF Project 2

Dear OPRF Community,

As we look forward to welcoming freshmen for Huskie Kickoff Day on Aug. 24 and the rest of our students for the first day of school on Aug. 25, we want to share an important update regarding the completion timeline and ribbon cutting for Imagine OPRF Project 2, our new physical education wing.

Most importantly: All PE classes, student programming, and athletic activities will begin on schedule and proceed uninterrupted.

However, due to unavoidable circumstances—including weather delays and regional trade-labor shortages—completing the entire facility prior to the first day of school is no longer feasible. While our construction firm has worked diligently to ramp up and resequence work, a phased opening has become necessary.

Updated Facility Timeline:

• Sept. 1: Most Project 2 spaces including primary PE areas expected to open.
• Oct. 1: Swimming pool and multi-court gymnasium expected to open. (Note: We are finalizing arrangements for swim team practices to be held elsewhere in the interim.)
• Saturday, Oct. 3, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Rescheduled Ribbon Cutting & Community Tours. We invite everyone in the community to join us for the grand opening of Project 2.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we put the finishing touches on these transformative spaces for our students.
