Students May Use Only District-Provided Chromebooks for Class

As we prepare for a successful school year, we want to share an important update about bringing personal devices to school.

To ensure an equitable, safe, and distraction-free learning environment, students may use only their District-provided Chromebook (or any District issued device) at school.

Personal laptops, iPads, tablets, and gaming devices are not permitted on the school network at any time and must remain at home. (Note: If a student has an IEP or 504 Plan requiring specialized assistive technology, our student support team will ensure their needs are met.)

Why We Have this Requirement

  • Digital safety & security: District-managed devices allow us to apply strict content filters and cybersecurity measures to protect students and our network.
  • Equity in the classroom: Using Chromebooks ensures every student has equal access to the exact same software, processing speeds, and digital resources at school.
  • Minimizing distractions: Keeping non-educational tech off campus helps students stay focused on learning and fosters meaningful face-to-face interactions.

Our Acceptable Use Policy is available by clicking here. Students with questions about their Chromebook can visit the helpdesk at its new location in Room 1294 or click here to submit a help ticket.

Thank you for your partnership in upholding this rule.
