Summer School

OPRFHS offers a 24-day Summer School program during June and July for students that desire to gain academic credit through acceleration, remediation, and enrichment. A wide range of courses are offered in business, math, English, applied and fine arts, special education, and drivers education. Incoming freshmen are welcome to pursue classes during Summer School to meet their educational needs and assist with their transition to OPRFHS. 2026 Summer School Registration Dates:

• Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 - Current Juniors, contact your counselor directly for priority registration. 

•  Tuesday, February 3rd,  2026, 6:00 p.m. - Current year Freshman and Sophomore  OPRF Students.

•  Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, 6:00 p.m. - Incoming Freshmen and Out-of-District Students.

Session Dates: 

• Monday through Thursday, June 8th - July 16th, 2026.  June 19th and July 4th do not fall during summer school in 2026. 

Driver Education

• For Summer 2026 Driver Education information: Students interested in taking Driver Education this summer MUST attend two meetings on April 7th and April 21st, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the North Cafeteria. Students must be at least 15 years old by June 5, 2026.  Priority is given to residents of Oak Park and River Forest.

Cost:

• Cost is $250 per class, with some courses having additional lab fees. 

• To help make our programs more accessible to all students, fees will be waived for students who qualify for free and reduced lunch.
