Dear OPRF High School Staff, Students, and Families,
Happy new year! I’m honored to share the news that our Superintendent, Dr. Joylynn Pruitt-Adams has been named Villager of the Year for Oak Park and River Forest by the Wednesday Journal. (You can read the full article by clicking here.)
A testament to Dr. Pruitt-Adam’s commitment to our District has been evident since she arrived. She not only wanted to work in our district but also desired to be a community member. Many of you have bumped into her at the grocery store, seen her at community events or out walking her dog. Since coming to the district, Dr. Pruitt-Adams has shown unflagging leadership. In less than four years she has revitalized the district’s strategic plan, overseen the process leading to the most significant campus renovations in 50 years, championed restructuring the freshman curriculum, reorganized her administrative team to be more equity focused, and helped create racial- and gender-equity policies. She is persistent and focused on ensuring that all students get what they need to succeed. She embodies those things that are best, and her tireless efforts will have a significant impact on our school community for years to come.
I’m grateful for her presence in our community and her leadership of our district. On behalf of the Board of Education, please join me in offering heartfelt congratulations and deep appreciation to Dr. Pruitt-Adams for this well-deserved honor.
Dr. Jackie Moore, President
District 200 Board of Education
