Dear OPRF High School Families,
I hope you are enjoying your summer break and taking some time to reconnect with all the people and things that hold great meaning for you. The faculty, staff, and administration are excited to usher in the new school year. Where last school year was marked with all types of challenges that we met and championed with resilience and tenacity, we are already preparing for the start of the 2022-2023 school year and all of the marvel that will be contained within. We have learned some great lessons from our recent past experiences and embrace the necessity of building and nurturing significant relationships with others. We plan to continue emphasizing the benefits to making connections in our daily lives because we recognize the intrinsic value that it brings to each and every individual. This year, our theme is “Pack Pride,” chosen to convey our collective commitment to working as a team to foster a positive and inclusive environment for all Huskies to thrive academically and socially. By respecting the humanity of others in our daily activities, we will each embody the excellence our institution is known for.
This summer, our school building continues to get a facelift through construction which will yield new classrooms and work spaces on all our floors. In addition to this being the first year of our restructured freshman curriculum, we will also experience some shifts in our school day, most notably with a change to our Wednesday Late Arrival schedule. A new bell schedule will be provided for families once everything is finalized. Additionally, we will be launching our new cell phone usage limits in instructional spaces throughout the building. Lastly, as we purposefully work to refine our school safety procedures, students will start the year with the expectation of wearing their ID card at chest level on their person. These changes are meant to optimize the learning experience for all students and help staff throughout the building to easily identify our students. These things and more will be explained as the school year opens and progresses but, for now, here is information you will need to get prepped for the start of school.
The Back-to-School Packet is online only. We do not send the documents via regular mail; we post them online only here. You may also look for the Quick Link on the bottom right of the homepage called Back-to-School Packet.
Skyward/Family Access is our student information portal. You can download the Skyward mobile app from your app store, or go to our homepage and look for the Quick Link called Family Access. Don’t know your password? Go to our Family Access login page and click “Forgot your Login/Password?” For questions or concerns, please email FamilyAccess@oprfhs.org or leave a message for a return call at (708) 434-3737, option 1. Please note that student schedules are not available until Schedule/Book Pick Up Week, and they are not posted in Skyward until classes begin.
All 2022-2023 fees are payable beginning on Monday, July 25th. This includes the Instructional Materials Fee ($268), the Technology Fee ($50), and the District Fee (varies by grade). Please pay your fees online through your Family Access account. If you have not completed online enrollment, you will not be able to pay 2022-23 fees. If you need to submit a fee waiver, please complete the application found in the online Back-to-School Packet. To set up a payment plan, please contact the Bookstore at csidor@oprfhs.org.
It is with great joy that I look forward to welcoming you back to school beginning the week of August 8th for Schedule/Book Pick Up. I am grateful for yet another opportunity to continue to serve this school community. Have a wonderful remainder of your summer!
