Oak Park and River Forest High School District 200 will be submitting a renewal application to the state for the following waiver:
A waiver to renew Illinois School Code 105 ILCS 5/27 – 24.3 (Public Act 095-0310) “…the driver education course offered in its schools shall consist of a least 30 hours of classroom instruction and, subject to modification as hereinafter allowed, at least 6 hours of practice driving in a car having dual operating controls under direct individual instruction.”
The requested waiver renewal (105 ILCS 5/274 – 24.3) states: “The state board may allow 18 hours of practice driving in a simulator system in lieu of 3 hours of instruction in a dual-controlled car.”
A public hearing to seek approval to renew Illinois School Code 105 ILCS 5/27 – 24.3 will be held on November 17, 2022, at 7:30 pm in Board Room (Rm. 2163) of Oak Park and River Forest High School (during the public comment section of the agenda).
