Kettering University presents: LITE ( Lives Improve Through Engineering)
This is a two-week residential program at Kettering University which introduces girls who will complete the 11th grade by the beginning of July to what engineers do and how they improve people's lives by using math, science, and technology to find solutions to human problems. Summer 2016 Travel Opportunity (Fully Funded)
This program is open to students who meet the following criteria:
Must attend high school within Oak Park, River Forest, Austin, Cicero, Berwyn, Forest Park, and Maywood districts.
Must be a high school student age 13-19
No previous travel experience (scholarships are reserved for students who have never traveled internationally and have had limited domestic travel opportunities)
To qualify for this program, household income must be at or below these levels for the number of persons in the household:
2 person family: $31,860
3-4 person family: $35,157.50 – $42,437.50
5-7 person family: $42,615 – $55,095
8 person or more family: $55,201
Academic standing of GPA higher than 2.5
Ideal participants demonstrate leadership skills and potential, academic merit, an interest in pursuing education outside of the classroom, and an interest in the natural world!

SIUE Engineering Summer Camps
This program introduces various engineering disciplines, computer science and construction management to current freshmen, sophomore and junior high school students through a set of activities that are fun, challenging, and thought-provoking. Students have the opportunity to participate in various hands-on laboratory experiments, design contests and field trips. Students will also get a flavor of residential college life, and will hopefully build lasting friendships with their peers from other high schools.
The fee for this year’s program is $450, and includes accommodations, food, transportation to and from field trips, as well as all necessary materials and supplies. A limited number of scholarships are available for students who can demonstrate inability to pay the full cost of the program. Sponsorship for the 2016 SIUE Engineering Summer Camps is provided by Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery.

Jim Holland Summer Enrichment Program
About the Program:
The SEP is a week-long academic program where teams of Indiana University faculty members and high school teachers expose the students to concepts in various fields of Biology, hands-on laboratory experiences related to the discussions, and featured activities from other IU departments outside of Biology . Students are expected to participate in all planned activities, take notes during lectures and lab sessions, maintain a journal on all academic elements of the program, and exhibit appropriate behavior at all times.
Student participants will receive free room and board at one of the residence halls on our beautiful campus, thanks to continued support from IU Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs, IU College of Arts & Sciences, IU Department of Biology, and Cook Incorporated of Bloomington, IN.

Teen Program at Brookfield Zoo
The King Conservation Science Scholars program intends recruit students from all over the Chicago area to raise awareness about conservation, and provide participants with the opportunity to learn about animals in a zoo setting. The program provides opportunities to interact with our guests through exhibit interpretation; as well as increasing participants’ college and career readiness through workshops and interaction with zoo professionals. Argonne National Laboratory
Pre-College Research Participation Program
An eight-week program in which college-bound students participate in laboratory research under the direction of Argonne scientists and engineers. Students will be selected by Argonne scientists and engineers who will provide for research experiences in areas such as Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Energy, Conservation, Environmental Impact and Technology, Materials Science, Mathematics, Nanomaterials, Advanced Nuclear Energy Systems, and Physics.
Applicants must have a grade point average of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale; be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; will have graduated from a local Illinois high school in May/June and are enrolled to attend college full-time in the Fall.
Stipend - $425.00 per week
Daily transportation is the responsibility of students and parents.
