International Communication Center

The International Communication Center (ICC) is a state-of-the art digital interactive multimedia facility used by World Language students for language study. It is equipped with fifty-eight student computer stations, two teacher consoles and a Sanako Digital Interactive Video & Audio Center. Students are able to listen to native speakers, practice pronunciation and interact with other students or the teacher and receive immediate feedback. They can describe images projected by the camera or give an oral report while using the camera. Their responses to video or audio may be recorded. Software is used to reinforce grammar, comprehension and culture, or strengthen vocabulary. Compositions are written using proofing tools while the teacher may edit the students' work from the main console. Internet access allows students to connect with classes in other countries, explore foreign language links and research topics of interest in all cultures and languages. The ICC is a multimedia center that enhances both teaching and learning.
